SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Software Engineer for Simulation & Flight Systems to design, develop, and own critical software spanning the design–build–test–operations pipeline. You’ll work on high‑performance, real‑time flight system software powering both ground and space vehicles, delivering new features and robust simulation capabilities.

The role emphasizes fast delivery, collaboration across engineering teams, and a commitment to quality software craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in computer science, engineering, math, or science; 1+ years of software development experience or 3+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Professional experience with C++, Rust, or Go.
• Experience with real-time data streaming and high‑performance software.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly develop prototypes to prove key design concepts and constraints.
• Develop high‑performance modules for real-time flight systems data streaming.
• Contribute to test automation processes and CI/CD infrastructure.
• Create and maintain high‑fidelity simulation and flight software for all vehicles.
• Improve reliability, performance, and scalability of simulation and flight platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers and customers to deliver new features improving system capabilities.
