Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation offers Software Engineering Grad Intern opportunities in the ISCD, onsite in Chantilly, VA or El Segundo, CA. You will work on simulated space systems, developing prototypes in Python, Java, and C, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on cutting-edge software projects for defense and civil customers.

Requirements include enrollment in a Master's or PhD program, availability for 10 weeks, and experience with Python/C/C++ or Java and AWS or Azure.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in a Master's or PhD degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field(s).
• Avail to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks and return to degree program after internship.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Advanced level programming in Python, C/C++, or Java.
• Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Transcripts required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in software design and implementation of a simulated space system.
• Develops prototype software in Python, Java, and C for space and ground elements.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team on ongoing research or technical programs.
• Applies standard techniques to perform prescribed scientific/engineering tasks.
• Training and mentorship will be provided.
