Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Space Vehicle and Ground Systems Engineer Undergraduate Intern to work onsite at our El Segundo, or Chantilly, VA offices. You will support design studies, refine tools, and collaborate with engineers across programs to solve challenging space problems.

Qualifications include pursuing a relevant engineering degree, GPA 3.0+, sophomore status, and readiness to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited undergrad program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer Science, Electrical, or related discipline.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale.
• Sophomore year completed prior to start of internship.
• Some knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and system engineering concepts.
• Proficiency with MS Office and collaboration tools.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a US government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support space vehicle and ground design studies, from small to multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist with development, maintenance, and improvement of design tools and models.
• Utilize and prototype tools, hardware, and equipment in the RAPID Center for knowledge-building.
• Collaborate with staff, program office personnel, and Aerospace interns.
