Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Dulles, VA is seeking a Reliability Engineer Level2 to join our team, focusing on reliability analyses for aerospace systems and collaborating with design and systems engineering.

You will use MIL‑HDBK‑217F, FMEA/FMECA, and other standards to predict reliability, review analyses, and support program milestones. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance with SCI access are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Electrical engineering or another STEM discipline; 2 years of related experience or Master’s degree.
• Ability to understand electrical schematics and functional block diagrams.
• Familiarity with MIL‑HDBK‑217F, MIL‑STD‑1629, SMC‑S‑013, EEE‑INST‑002.
• Ability to create reliability block diagrams and fault-tree diagrams.
• Familiarity with the FMEA/FMECA process and requirements.
• Familiarity with electrical stress analysis and worst-case circuit analysis.
• Ability to develop technical solutions to reliability problems.
• Ability to use industry tools to conduct reliability analyses.
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with SCI access.

Responsibilities

• Work with design and systems teams to meet proposed requirements.
• Perform failure-rate predictions using MIL‑HDBK‑217F or similar standards.
• Review and approve reliability analyses and FMEA results.
• Oversee technical assessments on design reliability implications.
• Support program milestones (SRR, PDR, CDR) as a Reliability Engineer.
• Assist proposals as a technical contributor and reviewer.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, development, O&M, and management to ensure high-quality program lifecycle.
