Job summary

Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company, seeks a Systems Engineer (Level 2/3) to enhance PMP controls for space vehicles and review design implementations. You will mentor, train, and capture knowledge while applying strong problem solving and leadership to ensure mission success.

The role requires on-site work, a US citizenship for security clearance, and a background in materials science, metallurgy, or chemical engineering applied to electronic parts and spacecraft systems.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years of aerospace experience.
• Understanding of engineering principles and risk.
• US Citizenship required for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Review supplier and internal designs, docs and processes focusing on material safety and reliability.
• Identify reliable parts for mission designs with program teams.
• Apply standards to select space-qualified EEE parts based on mission risk.
• Identify risks, propose corrective actions and manage technical communications.
• Support Failure Review Board, Corrective Action Board, and PMPCB activities.
• Assist analysis and testing of material and component qualification for space environment.
• Provide expertise on destructive and non-destructive test methods and results interpretation.
• Evaluate defective components and failure reports to support various engineers.
• Understand and apply parts/material specs in space mission contexts.
• Provide independent support across space vehicle systems to ensure mission success.
