Job summary

Insight Global seeks a System Analysis Engineer – Digital Comm Space Systems to support MS&A efforts for next‑gen satellite communications architectures. You will perform link analyses, resource optimization, and system‑of‑systems trade studies for defense and space programs.

The role focuses on digital communications, DSP, and space systems expertise to influence mission architecture decisions and collaborate with multidisciplinary eng teams.

Qualifications

• - Degree in a technical field as listed.
• - 2–5 years in satellite comms, constellation design, systems engineering, or MS&A.
• - Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for scientific computing and data analysis.
• - Strong DSP and digital comms fundamentals.
• - Experience with RF and digital comms modeling/simulation tools.
• - Familiar with link budget, coverage, beam pattern synthesis.
• - Experience with system-of-systems trade studies and evaluations.
• - Ability to communicate complex findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform waveform, link, and capacity analyses for advanced space communication systems.
• Model end-to-end architectures including terminals, networks, satellites, and ground hubs.
• Conduct detailed RF link budget and closure analyses.
• Evaluate performance under interference, jamming, and contested environments.
• Execute constellation-level trade studies across space vehicle architectures.
• Optimize scheduling and allocation of RF bandwidth, transmit power, onboard storage, and other resources.
• Translate subsystem constraints into engineering trade studies and optimization solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on architecture decisions.
• Review and validate simulation models, analytical tools, and software codebases.
• Use Git/GitLab for configuration management and collaboration.
• Develop dashboards, visualizations, and technical presentations.
• Present simulation results and recommendations to stakeholders.
