Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform waveform, link, and capacity analyses for advanced space communication systems.
• Model end-to-end architectures including terminals, networks, satellites, and ground hubs.
• Conduct detailed RF link budget and closure analyses.
• Evaluate performance under interference, jamming, and contested environments.
• Execute constellation-level trade studies across space vehicle architectures.
• Optimize scheduling and allocation of RF bandwidth, transmit power, onboard storage, and other resources.
• Translate subsystem constraints into engineering trade studies and optimization solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on architecture decisions.
• Review and validate simulation models, analytical tools, and software codebases.
• Use Git/GitLab for configuration management and collaboration.
• Develop dashboards, visualizations, and technical presentations.
• Present simulation results and recommendations to stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field
• 2–5 years of experience in satellite communications, constellation design, systems engineering, or Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A)
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for scientific computing and data analysis
• Strong understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and digital communications fundamentals
• Experience with RF and digital communications modeling and simulation tools
• Familiarity with:
• Link budget analysis
• Coverage analysis
• Beam pattern synthesis
• Experience conducting system-of-systems trade studies and technical evaluations
• Ability to communicate and present complex technical findings to stakeholders

Plusses:

Insight Global is seeking a System Analysis Engineer – Digital Comm Space Systems for a leading aerospace and defense client supporting next‑generation space programs. This engineer will support Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) efforts focused on advanced satellite communications architectures and constellation operations. The ideal candidate will leverage digital communications, DSP, and space systems expertise to perform link analysis, resource optimization, and system‑of‑systems trade studies. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting‑edge space technologies, collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and influence mission‑critical architecture decisions that support next‑generation defense and satellite communications capabilities.

Compensation:

$70hr to $80/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
