Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer in El Segundo, California, to support Space Force initiatives. The role involves designing, developing and validating simulations, performing trade studies, and delivering analysis to guide architectural decisions within a fast-paced team.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's in aerospace/astronautics/physics/mMath with extensive experience in MATLAB, Python, and C++, plus LVC simulation and tools like STK, AFSIM, GMAT, or FreeFlyer.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in aerospace, astronautics, mathematics or physics with 14+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, or C++.
• Experience with live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) simulation techniques.
• Experience with simulation environments such as STK, AFSIM, GMAT, or FreeFlyer.
• MATLAB/Simulink or other simulation scripting languages.
• Leadership experience in planning scope, scheduling and execution.
• Knowledge of satellite systems, launch, maneuvering, and communications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and verify simulations and analysis plans and TPM assessments for key decisions.
• Generate analytical modeling solutions to assess system performance and related parameters.
• Support requirements development, verification, and CONOPS to meet mission requirements.
• Identify opportunities for independent assessment and improvement of systems.
• Incorporate system models into enterprise models demonstrating integration into find, fix, target, track, engage, and assess chain.
• Support analysis by integrating performance models with MBSE tools.
• Quantify performance impacts and sensitivity to CONOPS and threats.
• Prepare and deliver briefings to Space Force and government personnel with clear technical content.
• Knowledge of Space Force capabilities and enterprise architecture elements.
