Job summary

SAIC's Horizon program seeks a Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer in El Segundo, CA. You will contribute as part of a fast-paced team delivering space mission operation simulations and trade studies, guiding requirements and designs.

You will work with STK/AFSIM/GMAT/FreeFlyer, develop and test simulation tools, and help automate system-level trade study execution while collaborating across disciplines and presenting technical demos.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in aerospace, astronautics, mathematics, or physics with related experience.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, or C++.
• Knowledge of live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) simulation techniques.
• Experience with STK, AFSIM, GMAT, or FreeFlyer.
• MATLAB and/or Simulink or similar scripting.
• Ability to present and demonstrate technical work.
• Knowledge of satellite orbital mechanics, remote sensing, or space communications.
• Equivalent experience with airborne systems is applicable.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a fast-paced mission operations modeling, simulation, and analysis team informing Space Force decisions.
• Develop and test simulation applications and integrate tools into automated trade study execution.
• Define requirements, specify designs, and implement a growing portfolio of simulations and trade studies.
