Job summary

Amentum seeks an Instrument/Electrical Technician II to support NASA test facilities under the JETSII contract. This union position involves planning, wiring installation, and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems in a lab/industrial setting.

Candidates will work with power distribution, control panels, and wiring per engineering specs. Requires a high school diploma and at least 4 years of field experience; NEC knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• General computer and typing skills.
• General knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field or related area.

Responsibilities

• Plan, layout, and install electrical and instrumentation wires to facility equipment per engineering work orders and schematics.
• Perform electrical and instrumentation buildup and installations in compliance with NEC and NASA guidelines.
• Plan, layout, assemble and install cable tray or conduit per work orders.
• Perform buildup of power distribution or data and control system panels per drawings.
• Buildup of cable assemblies from drawings and schematics.
• Use basic machine shop tools to support facility or test stand buildups.
• Disassemble and reassemble motors, generators, switchgear, and related equipment.
• Demonstrate competent use of basic electrical measurement devices.
• Trace existing system wiring to verify or update facility drawings.
• Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems from schematics.
