Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Altitude Test Technician II to join the JETSII Contract in Houston, TX. This is a union, full-time role supporting NASA altitude chamber testing and life-support systems.

You will fabricate, assemble, and operate high- and low-pressure systems and serve as a test system operator across manned and unmanned tests. You will interpret engineering drawings, assist with test procedures, and perform routine maintenance while wearing PPE.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of decompression sickness symptoms and treatments.
• Knowledge of suit egress methods for altitude testing.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to assist with the work of others.
• Operational experience with mechanical equipment in vacuum/thermal test environments.
• General knowledge of the concepts and procedures in the work area.
• Ability to train/certify in primary duty stations/test systems.
• Must pass Air Force Class III physical and respirator requirements.
• High School diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform fabrication, modification, and assembly of complex hardware from drawings or instructions.
• Operate and maintain altitude chamber test facilities, including pressure, vacuum, and cryogenic systems.
• Maintain records and prepare test procedures and checklists.
• Work with engineers and technicians on design, fabrication, and operation of components.
• Ensure safety and proper PPE usage; identify hazards and report them.
