Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Systems Technician II to join the JETSII contract at a NASA-related facility. The role involves building, calibrating and maintaining lab systems, and working with engineers on complex hardware.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 4+ years in the field, with proficiency in reading drawings and operating mechanical equipment. PPE and safety are essential; multiple shop tools are used daily.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 4+ years in field
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Proficient in operating standard mechanical equipment and systems
• Ability to train and certify in primary duty stations
• Willingness to work in lab/warehouse environment with PPE

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled work in development, fabrication, calibration, setup, operation and maintenance of laboratory fixtures, equipment, and facilities
• Fabricate, modify, and assemble complex hardware and systems from drawings
• Build and operate mechanical systems including pressure, vacuum, cryogenic, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.
• Interpret drawings and work instructions to carry out assignments
• Assist engineering on design, fabrication, installation and operation of components
• Operate shop equipment and perform preventive maintenance
