Job summary

Katalyst Space Technologies seeks a Flight Software Engineer II for Space Systems to own embedded flight software from requirements through on-orbit operations. You will develop real-time software for payload control, data processing, telemetry, and interfaces, and integrate with avionics, GNC, and ground software.

The role requires 3+ years in embedded or flight software for spacecraft or mission-critical systems, strong C/C++, RTOS/embedded Linux experience, and proven cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
• 3+ years in embedded/flight software for spacecraft, aerospace, defense, robotics, or mission-critical products.
• Ownership of embedded software from requirements through deployment.
• Strong C/C++ proficiency with real-time/embedded constraints.
• Experience with RTOS-based or embedded Linux systems.
• Hands-on hardware integration with sensors, processors, and test equipment.
• Excellent technical communication across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own embedded flight software from requirements and architecture to on-orbit operations.
• Implement real-time software for payload control, sensor commanding, data processing, telemetry, and interfaces.
• Translate requirements into software interfaces, state machines, and testable specs.
• Integrate flight software with avionics, GNC, communications, power, and ground software.
• Build and maintain test capabilities and use telemetry/logs to diagnose issues.
