Job summary

Katalyst Space is hiring in the United States for software engineers focused on spacecraft software, embedded and real-time systems. You will contribute to flight, ground, and mission software, working across Linux, C/C++, and Python with hardware-in-the-loop systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in a closely related technical field.
• Strong grounding in data structures, algorithms, os, and embedded/real-time software.
• Hands-on software engineering via internships, research, projects, or industry.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, test, and operate spacecraft software including flight and ground systems.
• Own software engineering problems from requirements to deployment with senior mentorship.
• Work with flight/embedded software, Linux, C/C++, Python, simulators, and hardware-in-the-loop.
• Participate in design/code reviews, integration, simulation campaigns, and anomaly investigations.
• Collaborate with GNC, electrical, mechanical, propulsion, and mission operations teams.
• Develop and document interfaces, architectures, and decisions for review and reuse.
• Progress toward independent ownership of features, services, and subsystems.
• Support mission execution by translating objectives into software architectures and tools.
