Job summary

York Space Systems is seeking a Systems Architect to lead end-to-end architecture development for capture and proposal efforts. You will translate mission needs into credible architectures, perform trades, and coordinate with internal engineering teams and external partners to ensure compliant, affordable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years direct systems engineering/architecture experience in space hardware.
• 3+ years product development or capture/proposal experience in government contractor environment.
• Proven track record architecting space mission solutions with CONOPS and trade studies.
• Familiarity with USSF/SSC processes and NASA/IC procurement environments.
• Experience drafting technical volumes for proposals or programs.
• Strong systems engineering tools and MBSE practices; excellent written/verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture design for spacecraft bus, payload, ground, and mission systems in RFIs/BAAs/IDIDs and DoW customers.
• Translate customer requirements into system-level architectures and CONOPS.
• Perform trades for orbit selection, constellation sizing, power/thermal budgeting, and integration constraints.
• Develop and present SWaP-C, reliability, maturity, and schedule trade studies.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and partners to ensure feasible, affordable solutions.
• Author/edit technical volumes, diagrams, and compliance matrices with Capture/Proposal teams.
• Interface with government customers, FFRDCs, and industry partners during capture activities.
