Job summary

Advanced Space in Westminster, CO, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead mission and system architecture development across the full lifecycle of space systems. You will translate objectives into practical, traceable requirements and manage interfaces, verification, and trades across spacecraft, ground, and software teams.

The role requires 8–12 years in aerospace systems engineering, a related degree (BS/MS/PhD), and the ability to obtain TS clearance.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of progressively responsible systems engineering experience in spaceflight or complex aerospace systems.
• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience with system architecture, ConOps, requirements development and traceability, interface management, and verification & validation.
• Experience leading technical reviews, trade studies, integration and test activities, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience across lifecycle phases from concept to operations.
• Strong technical judgment and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to obtain active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance.
• Capable of working in Westminster, Colorado office five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead mission and system architecture development across concepts, ConOps, architectures, and baselines.
• Develop, allocate, trace, verify, and validate system requirements.
• Lead system-level trade studies and technical decisions across disciplines.
• Manage system interfaces and internal/external ICDs with multi-team coordination.
• Plan and lead verification, validation, test activities and major reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
• Provide system-level technical oversight through all mission lifecycle stages.
• Collaborate with customers and mission partners to translate needs into solutions.
• Identify and manage technical risks, margins, and performance throughout development and operations.
• Support mission operations, future studies, proposals, and field evolution.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote strong systems engineering practices.
