Job summary

Redwire in Littleton, CO seeks a Senior Principal Mission Architect to lead architecture development for space missions and wins. You translate customer objectives into end-to-end architectures, drive MBSE practices, and guide multi-disciplinary teams across propulsion, avionics, and ground segments.

You will mentor engineers, refine requirements, and support capture efforts for proposals and white papers while traveling as needed. A senior, highly collaborative role in a growing space company.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace or Systems Engineering or related field.
• 16+ years in space industry with design, development, integration and operations experience.
• Deep expertise in mission and space vehicle architecture across multiple orbital regimes.
• Hands-on RPO architecture and mission design experience.
• Proficient with mission modeling tools (STK, MATLAB).
• Advanced MBSE experience (SysML/Cameo, DOORS/Jama).
• Ability to travel (~20%), US citizenship or eligible for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture development for new pursuits including CONOPS and mission threads.
• Decompose objectives into mission/system requirements and performance budgets.
• Document architecture trades and discriminator mappings.
• Develop capture artifacts (technical volumes, BOEs, WBS inputs).
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams across propulsion, GNC/ADCS, power, thermal, avionics, payloads, ground segment and autonomy.
• Mentor staff and maintain engineering excellence and traceability.
• Communicate effectively with customers to refine objectives and support proposals.
