Job summary

Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team. You will support spacecraft structural design from concept through testing, with responsibilities spanning modeling, analysis, and test planning. The role may include on-console testing and on-call periods as needed.

We welcome Level I (Associate) or Level II (Engineer) candidates. A BS/MS in mechanical/aerospace and experience with Nastran/Patran are required, along with DoD clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent degree is required.
• 0+ years of structural analysis experience for Associate Engineer level I.
• 2+ years of structural analysis experience for Engineer level II.
• Experience with Nastran/Patran.
• Understanding of solid mechanics and launch environment loads.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed finite element models of satellite structures and perform static, dynamic, buckling, thermal, and transient analyses.
• Own mechanical test projects from quotations to testing and documentation.
• Develop test plans, procedures, and reports for mechanical analyses and tests.
• Interface with vendors and coordinate mechanical testing logistics.
• Participate in vehicle arrangement discussions and design/analysis reviews.
• Design and analyze testing fixtures for mechanical tests.
