Job summary

Vast, based in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, Structures, to drive human-rated vehicle processes as Haven-1 moves from design to flight-ready status. This full-time exempt role is located in Long Beach, CA.

You will lead build/inspection of primary structure, refine welding and fabrication methods, and collaborate with design and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and on-time delivery in a rapidly evolving production environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing or related field.
• 2-4+ years for Manufacturing Engineer II; 4-6+ years for Senior.
• Hands-on fabrication, assembly, and/or integration experience; CAD proficiency.
• Experience with aerospace hardware and safety-critical systems.
• Proficiency applying GD&T.
• Experience taking concepts to production in a rapid environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee build and inspection of primary structure assembly.
• Refine manufacturing processes: welding, trimming, bending, etc.
• Create and modify welding processes and work instructions.
• Collaborate with engineers to solve production challenges.
• Evaluate designs for manufacturability in a fast-paced setting.
• Address non-conformances with the quality team and root-cause actions.
• Plan capital equipment and layout upgrades for volume production.
• Develop floor layouts and capacity models for on-time delivery.
