Job summary

Virgin Galactic is seeking a Spacewrench 2 (A&P Mechanic), SAT Technician to support our mission. The role covers maintenance, repair, and inspection of aircraft with work at Las Cruces International Airport and Spaceport America, NM. Occasional travel between sites is required, with a company vehicle possible.

The position follows a Monday–Friday day shift. Requires an FAA A&P certificate, GA maintenance experience, and ability to access restricted areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• GA line and base maintenance experience.
• Graduated from a technical college or military aviation training course.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate (A&P) required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with Lycoming engines.
• Experience with aerobatic aircraft.
• Experience or training with aircraft composite materials.
• Eligible to obtain Air Operations Area (AOA) access.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assigned maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair work on general aviation aerobatic aircraft and business jets.
• Check, dismantle, adjust, repair, fabricate, remove and install aircraft parts across propulsion, avionics, fuel, environmental, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Perform service, maintenance, and inspections on flightlines and in non-climate controlled hangars.
• Inspect aircraft, parts, sub-assemblies and completed assemblies for airworthiness.
• Return aircraft to service after maintenance and inspection per 14 CFR Part 43.9.
• Assist FAA Inspection Authorization personnel during inspections per 14 CFR Part 43.11.
• Accurately document all work using Virgin Galactic processes for compliance and records.
• Maintain focus on timeliness and task execution.
• Collaborate with teammates to achieve goals and complete tasks.
