Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a seasoned Quality Engineer to ensure design, material and process quality across programs. You will collaborate with program management, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to uphold quality standards and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities include leading investigations, applying Six-Sigma/Lean concepts, and performing statistical analyses to certify compliance with high-reliability requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
• 3-8 years of Quality Engineering experience in space, aerospace, defense, or a high-reliability industry
• Hands-on experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100, MIL-STD-1916, or similar standards
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD-L, and configuration-management data
• Familiar with Procure-to-Pay or SAP or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
• Experience in one of the following disciplines: Quality Engineering, Systems Engineering, Materials Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or anything else related
• Microsoft Office applications experience

Responsibilities

• Apply quality principles in design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality
• Collaborate with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place
• Engage in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action
• Develop strategies and systems to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity
• Evaluate quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
• Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conduct product quality tests, perform statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications
• Engage in supplier selection process and maintain certification programs
• Participate in or drive process improvement activity; Lean and Six-Sigma familiarity
