Job summary
United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for production of Starlink satellites and ground hardware. You will design structures, mechanisms and automation equipment for high-volume manufacturing, and take projects from concept through to commissioning on a tight schedule.
You will own high-impact work, collaborate with flight design and production teams, and optimize for speed, cost and manufacturability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- +1 year of experience designing mechanical systems using 3D CAD software and 2D drawings.
- Experience with structural design and analysis is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop structures, mechanisms and automation equipment to enable high volume production of Starlink Satellites.
- Demonstrate ownership of projects through entire lifecycle from concept to production bring-up.
- Balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Partner with flight design and production teams to develop satellite, factory and production processes in parallel.
- Solve complex problems with emphasis on speed and efficiency.
- Coordinate resources and maintain project schedule and budget; assemble and commission equipment.
