Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer, Production (Starlink) in Redmond, WA to design the factory of the future for mass production of satellites, ground stations and space hardware. You will create tooling and machinery for varied production processes and own projects from concept through factory integration.

You will apply 3D CAD (NX) and 2D drawings, work with manufacturing and assembly teams, and optimize for speed and impact on SpaceX production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 1+ year experience designing mechanical systems with 3D CAD and 2D drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design structures, mechanisms and automation equipment for high-volume production.
• Own projects from concept to fabrication and production bring-up.
• Collaborate with flight design and production teams to parallelize satellite, factory and process development.
• Perform fast, open-ended problem solving to optimize pace and efficiency.
• Coordinate with SpaceX resources and vendors to maintain schedules and budgets.
• Assemble and commission the equipment you design.
