Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA is seeking an early-career space systems analyst and software engineer to contribute to orbital analyses, trajectory assessments, and risk mitigation across multiple projects. You will work onsite with the Enterprise Effects Division, applying astrodynamics, data analysis, and programming to support real-time operations and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Aerospace engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical discipline (Pursuing or conferred within the last 12 months)
• 0 to 1 years of professional postgraduate experience
• Aptitude with astrodynamics and related mathematics; skills in mathematical formulation and derivation; experience with computer software tools
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship required
• Transcripts are required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to projects involving analyses and software development across space situational awareness, space traffic management, space object tracking and orbit determination
• Support real-time operations and analyses including launch and on-orbit collision risk assessments
• Conduct deep dives, trade studies, and assessments with multi-disciplinary teams to address customer needs
• Develop and present briefings and reports communicating analysis results and recommended solutions
• Travel occasionally to support customer efforts
