Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation invites you to apply for an internship with the Space Object Risk Department (SORD). This on-site role supports launch, on-orbit activities, and debris mitigation, with security clearance eligibility and mentorship provided.

We seek full-time students pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Aerospace, Physics, or Mathematics, capable of Python/C++/Fortran work, and willing to relocate within the U.S. for 10 weeks. TS/SCI experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a college/university pursuing a Master’s or PhD in a technical field such as Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
• Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks and return to degree program afterward.
• Aptitude in astrodynamics and related mathematics.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to one or more focus areas within Space Object Risk Department projects.
• Develop or apply analysis tools and techniques as needed.
• Collaborate with project teams and staff; support multiple projects as required.
• Receive training and mentorship during the internship.
