Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer – Systems Engineering to support the LEO Ground Project at Greenbelt, MD and Suitland, MD. You will lead integration, design validation, and end-to-end testing of telemetry and command systems, coordinating with NASA and contractor teams.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, 6+ years of experience in ground systems, and the ability to obtain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or equivalent STEM discipline.
• 6+ years of progressive e x p e r i e n c e with ground system command and telemetry hardware/software.
• Core knowledge in ground system engineering—requirements, design, development, interfaces, integration, test, operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare LEO Ground CGS to support domestic and international missions at JPSS polar ground sites.
• Plan and execute CGS integration and test activities, including validation and end-to-end telemetry/command testing.
• Collaborate with project managers to identify complex technical challenges and develop/implement resolutions.
• Engage in mission architecture, concept studies, trades, requirements, design, integration, test and verification.
• Coordinate with NASA engineers, vendors, and aerospace groups to drive engineering activities forward.
