Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to develop advanced DC-DC converters for aerospace and space applications. You will design, simulate, and qualify power electronics from requirements through production, with emphasis on high-reliability space environments.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration with firmware, mechanical, and systems teams, plus board bring-up, testing, and continuous design improvements for production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 3+ years designing power electronics for aerospace/space applications with DC-DC converters.
• Experience in requirements capture for high-reliability systems.
• Selection of power-stage topologies and control schemes for isolated/non-isolated converters.
• Experience with space qualification standards and EMI/EMC mitigation.
• Board bring-up, testing, and manufacturability improvements.

Responsibilities

• Capture and translate engineering requirements for power electronic systems in space.
• Design power-stage topologies and control schemes for aerospace environments.
• Select components and ensure space-qualified reliability.
• Develop controller algorithms to optimize converter performance.
• Lead board bring-up, troubleshooting, and testing of prototypes.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and systems teams.
• Produce schematic drawings and PCB layouts meeting space standards.
