Job summary

Rocket Lab seeks an Additive Manufacturing Intern for Summer 2027 at our Long Beach, CA site. You will gain hands-on experience in metal additive manufacturing for rocket engines and work with mentors to apply engineering concepts and solve real challenges.

Ideal candidates are pursuing engineering, physics or math degrees with a 3.0+ GPA, plus 3+ months of applied engineering experience. This on-site internship offers a structured program with learning opportunities and professional networking.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline with at least one semester remaining post internship.
• GPA 3.0+ required.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internships, labs, or projects)
• GPA 3.5+ would be nice to have.
• 6+ months of applied engineering experience preferred.
• Exposure to metal additive manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with mentors and department teammates to apply engineering concepts.
• Tackle real engineering challenges with a fast-paced team.
• Attend regular 1:1s with mentors and supervisors to discuss progress and learning.
• Participate in technical talks and network with interns and staff.
