Blue Origin in Washington state is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to translate engineering intent and drawings into precise machined components for spaceflight systems. You will develop work instructions and define setups for mills, lathes, multi-axis and EDM machines, while ensuring quality and cost objectives are met.

With 2+ years of machining experience and strong GD&T and blueprint-reading skills, you will collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize processes and document

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of machining experience developing manufacturing process requirements.
• Ability to interpret models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
• Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994.

Responsibilities

• Identify and deploy manufacturing methods to improve quality and reduce cost.
• Translate drawings and configurations into high quality machined components.
• Develop manufacturing work instructions.
• Prepare setups for machining on mills, lathes, multi-axis and EDM machines.
• Conduct DFMEA/DFM studies to strengthen design-to-manufacturing feedback.
• Lead root cause analyses for non-conformances and deploy corrective actions.
