Job summary

Mclaurin Aerospace seeks a PLSS Project Engineer to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. This role focuses on EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test and certification, working to meet NASA standards.

You will collaborate with a passionate, diverse team to analyze requirements, develop robust design solutions, and update work plans for PLSS scope. Strong communication and engineering credibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2–5 years of related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of vent loop gas flow, PLSS components, and NASA design goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform project engineering for EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test and certification.
• Analyze customer requirements and develop design solutions in a team environment.
• Update PLSS work scope plans with Team leadership.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and analyze PLSS hardware components and test configurations.
• Assist with troubleshooting during testing and integration.
• Review drawings, requirements, and specifications to ensure NASA standards compliance.
• Contribute to test reports, hazard analyses, design reviews, procedures, and TPS creation and execution.
