Job summary

Mclaurin Aerospace seeks a Spacesuit Technologist to join the JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. You will work under senior team members to inspect, assemble, and test prototype spacesuits and associated life-support hardware.

You will prepare procedures, operate test equipment, build mockups, and ensure safety in a lab/workshop setting. Occasional after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or BS in Engineering Technology or related field.
• Hands-on mechanical and fabrication experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift and handle equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable in workshops, labs, and test environments.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, assemble, and test prototype spacesuits under supervision.
• Prepare procedures and work instructions for maintenance and testing.
• Be trained operator of test equipment and ground support gear.
• Build and modify mockups and prototype hardware for testing.
• Maintain safety practices and pursue necessary certifications.
• Occasional non-business hours work may be required.
