Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation invites students to join its Space Enterprise Design and Optimization Department for an internship focused on constellation design, astrodynamics, and space mission analysis. You will work with engineering teams across multiple sites to develop simulations and present results to stakeholders.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in aerospace/engineering or related fields, with programming proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C, and C++.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time or accepted at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Master’s or PhD in aerospace, astronautical, or mechanical engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics, or a related field
• Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and return to degree program after completion

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply technical skills to real-world problems in constellation design and astrodynamics for national space programs
• Work with Aerospace staff to develop and use analysis software tools for modeling and simulation
• Present timely, technically accurate results and recommendations to technical leads and customers
• Collaborate across multiple locations and manage multiple projects during internship
