Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation invites highly motivated students to join our EED/SEDOD teams in El Segundo, CA, for a 10‑week internship focused on constellation design and multi‑objective optimization. You will work with senior engineers on modeling and simulation tasks and present results to technical leads and customers.

You will gain hands-on experience in orbit design, analysis software, and data-driven decision support, with mentorship from full-time staff and opportunities to collaborate

Qualifications

• Enrolled full time or accepted at an accredited college/university pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in aerospace, astronautical, or mechanical engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics, or a related field.
• Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks and return to degree program afterward.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C or C++ and ability to work both independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply your technical skills to real-world problems in constellation design and astrodynamics for national space programs.
• Collaborate with Aerospace staff to develop and use analysis software tools for modeling and simulations.
• Present timely, technically accurate analyses and provide recommended solutions to leads and customers.
