Job summary

Trident Systems LLC in Fairfax, VA seeks a Production Planner II to create, schedule, and release production orders, ensuring material readiness and on-time delivery. You will coordinate with program managers, planners, buyers, and manufacturing to optimize shop-floor timing and sequencing.

The role requires 2–4 years in production planning, strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP/MRP systems. This full-time, on-site position reports to the Materials Manager and supports aerospace/space

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in production scheduling/planning/material control/inventory control.
• Experience using ERP, MRP, or production control systems.
• Knowledge of production schedules, BOMs, inventory and material movement.
• Strong Excel and Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, schedule, and release production orders aligned with priorities and material availability.
• Release production orders at least 14 days in advance of planned start date.
• Coordinate work-release priorities with Operations Program Managers.
• Maintain production order dates, status, routing, and material requirements in ERP/MRP.
• Review material availability before release and identify shortages or constraints.
• Coordinate with Material Planning and Program Material Planning for alignment.
• Communicate shortages and schedule risks to stakeholders before impact.
• Prepare rolling dispatch lists and production schedules for leadership.
