Job summary

Trident LLC in Hampton, VA is seeking a Manufacturing Production Planner to support day-to-day planning and scheduling. You will create work packages, manage materials, and help meet production goals safely and efficiently.

You will collaborate with multiple departments to ensure material availability, monitor production processes, and track status of work in progress while upholding quality standards and budgets. Full-time, on-site role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Blueprint reading experience required.
• 3+ years of manufacturing/planning experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of production processes, quality control, and inventory management.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Technical proficiency in material requirements planning and scheduling software.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Bonus if you have completed a shipyard apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creation of work packages, instructions, and material management to meet quality standards and align with production schedules.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure material availability and prevent shortages or overstock.
• Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to safety regulations, company standards, and customer requirements.
• Address issues related to material shortages or disruptions in workflow to help maintain production timelines.
• Assist in coordinating with inventory and purchasing teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
• Support in tracking and reporting on the status of work in progress, material availability, and any potential production issues.
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Assist with other planning-related tasks as needed.
