Job summary

Trident Systems is seeking a Production Planner II to create, schedule, release, and maintain production orders supporting manufacturing execution and program delivery in Sterling, VA/Chantilly, VA. The role reports to the Materials Manager and collaborates with Material Planning, Buyers, Manufacturing, and Engineering to ensure timely, material-ready releases.

You'll use ERP/MRP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics Business Central to track schedules, material availability, and dispatch/pick

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field and experience in production scheduling and planning.
• Experience using ERP/MRP or production control systems to manage production orders.
• Strong Excel and cross-functional coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, schedule, and release production orders to the manufacturing floor per priorities and material availability.
• Release orders 14 days in advance when practical to support timely material movement.
• Coordinate with Operations Program Managers to align work-release priorities and timing.
• Maintain accurate production order dates, status, routing, and material requirements in ERP/MRP.
• Identify shortages or constraints and communicate risks before they impact execution.
• Prepare rolling dispatch lists and schedules for leadership review.
