Job summary

Trident Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Design Engineer to join the Sterling, VA production team. You will support the build and delivery of Space Flight products for the Space Electronic Systems sector, working closely with technicians and engineers.

Responsibilities include creating detailed work instructions, driving process improvements, and ensuring manufacturability and ISO/AS quality compliance in a dynamic ESD environment. Shift flexibility and safety adherence expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in mechanical/industrial/manufacturing engineering.
• 4+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 2+ years with a graduate degree (8 years can substitute).

Responsibilities

• Provides engineering process support to the manufacturing of electromechanical assemblies for military and space applications, driving defect reduction and root-cause activities.
• Conduct data analysis for capacity, throughput, and performance indicators.
• Recommend and implement process improvements, lean manufacturing techniques, and process flows for production and development programs.
• Ensure bench setups/layouts satisfy productivity, safety/ergonomics, and employee suggestions.
• Create detailed work instructions from engineering drawings for technicians to assemble, test, and inspect products accurately.
• Generate, investigate, and document non-conformances; recommend disposition and rework instructions.
• Review designs for manufacturability and ensure compliance with standards for consistent processes.
• Support MRB/FRB for disposition of discrepant material/test failures and root-cause/corrective action.
