Job summary

CesiumAstro, based in Austin, TX, is seeking a Lab Manager to lead its electronics lab developing space-grade electronics for satellites and defense applications. You will oversee assembly, rework, integration and test of RF, power and digital boards, and will grow the lab's capabilities.

You will manage equipment calibration, procurement, and lab safety, mentor junior technicians, and collaborate with engineers in a fast-paced startup setting.

Qualifications

• 10 years of electronics lab experience and hands-on assembly expertise.
• Strong ability to lead a lab and manage equipment, calibration, and supplies.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, rework, and test complex circuit boards in an engineering lab environment.
• Integrate and test boxes made up of different power, RF and digital boards.
• Perform special rework to solve technical problems with advanced skills.
• Design, build, and test harnesses for space and defense systems.
• Manage the engineering lab, maintaining lab processes and calibration.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians in a fast-paced environment.
• Mentor junior technicians and engineers.
• Author and conduct lab training, such as ESD and safety training.
