Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Lab Manager to lead the electronics lab in Austin, overseeing assembly, rework, and test of complex circuit boards for space and defense applications. You will manage lab equipment, calibration, and procurements, while mentoring engineers and technicians and ensuring strict safety and quality controls.

The role requires hands-on leadership in a startup-like environment, contributing directly to high-reliability products for space applications and coordinating with EH&S

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience as an electronics lab technician.
• Strong circuit card assembly and rework experience with fine pitched SMT components.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, rework, and test complex circuit boards in an engineering lab environment.
• Integrate and test boxes made up of different power, RF and Digital boards.
• Design, build, and test harnesses for space and defense systems.
• Manage the engineering lab, equipment calibration, procurement and consumables.
• Mentor junior technicians and engineers, sharing knowledge.
• Author and conduct lab training for engineers and technicians.
