Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX invites electrical engineering students to join as summer interns on our hardware design team for satellite communication systems. You will work side-by-side with design engineers, contributing to schematics, layout, and lab bring-up.

Interns gain hands-on experience across high-speed digital, power electronics, and RF hardware, with opportunities to present work to mentors and leadership; strong emphasis on learning, autonomy, and practical project delivery.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a BS, MS, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
• GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Strong fundamentals in EE topics covered in coursework.
• Practical experience designing and building electronics hardware for a research project, competition team, extracurricular activity, prior internship, or advanced engineering course.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, bring-up, and debugging.
• Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, and signal generators.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and build electronics hardware for satellite communication systems.
• Contribute to schematics and layouts as part of the hardware design team.
• Support analysis and lab work across projects.
