Job summary

Turion Space is seeking a COMSEC Manager to build and scale the company’s communications security program at our Irvine, CA headquarters. You will lead cryptographic workflows, asset accountability, and security measures across spacecraft programs and classified facilities.

You will coordinate with USSF, NSA, and DoD authorities while training engineers and operators on proper COMSEC handling and incident response.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD Top Secret clearance and TS/SCI eligibility on Day 1.
• 3+ years of hands-on COMSEC account management, including acquisition, receipt, custody, safeguarding, and destruction of COMSEC material.
• Experience coordinating with USSF, NSA, and DoD space authorities on COMSEC acquisitions and facility security.

Responsibilities

• Establish and scale Turion Space’s foundational COMSEC program with SOPs and procedures.
• Lead end-to-end acquisition, forecasting, and procurement of space-qualified COMSEC equipment.
• Serve as SME for spacecraft telemetry encryption and ground station cryptographic integration.
• Maintain accountability of all COMSEC assets per NSA/CSS policy and DoD/USSF doctrine.
• Train and certify engineers and operators on COMSEC safeguarding and destruction procedures.
• Support facility accreditations (SCIF/SAPF) and coordinate with CORs and authorities.
