Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I focused on Avionics & Test in California. You will test and debug avionics systems, optimize manufacturing processes, and support product design for manufacturability in a high-velocity production environment.

Expect hands-on work, collaboration across teams, and opportunities to impact build rate and reliability as Rocket Lab expands its launch capabilities. Base pay varies with experience; stock-based compensation is part of total rewards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or similar.
• Technical experience in a Manufacturing, Production, or Process Engineering environment.
• Hands-on experience solving problems in complex manufacturing systems.
• Ability to effectively deliver on complex assignments with autonomy.
• Foundational knowledge in complex manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on technical experience debugging electro-mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Test and debug avionics and electro-mechanical systems in a production setting.
• Optimize manufacturing processes and support design for manufacturability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Lead or support DFMEA/PFMEA activities and root cause analysis.
• Contribute to transitioning designs from design to production in a fast-paced environment.
