Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer I - Avionics & Test to own hands-on testing and avionics manufacturing improvements. You will troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems, support manufacturability, and drive cross-functional root cause solutions to accelerate ramp-up.

The role emphasizes designing and optimizing production lines, collaborating with Design Engineering, and delivering robust, scalable processes for Rocket Lab’s spaceflight systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of technical experience in Manufacturing, Production, or Process Engineering.
• Hands-on experience solving systemic problems in complex manufacturing systems.
• Ability to manage multiple complex assignments autonomously.
• Experience coaching others to raise performance across teams.
• Deep knowledge of complex manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare feasibility studies and conduct manufacturing technology R&D projects.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to ensure manufacturability at scale.
• Engineer and deliver factories: design, procure, install, validate assembly, test, and verification.
• Support Development builds to accelerate production ramping.
• Own production lines to improve yield and increase build efficiency.
• Diagnose failures with deep technical investigations and risk mitigation.
• Drive process improvements across manufacturing, test, and integration.
