Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I focused on avionics and test. You will test and debug avionics systems, optimize manufacturing processes, and support manufacturability from design to production.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in engineering and hands‑on experience with complex manufacturing systems, including DFMEA/PFMEA familiarity and a drive to improve quality and build rate. This role offers stock in the total compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or similar.
• Technical experience in a Manufacturing, Production, or Process Engineering environment.
• Hands‑on experience solving problems in complex manufacturing systems.
• Ability to effectively deliver on complex assignments with autonomy.
• Foundational knowledge in complex manufacturing processes.
• Hands‑on technical experience debugging electro‑mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Test and debug avionics and electro‑mechanical systems to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Support product design for manufacturability and troubleshoot production issues.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive process improvements.
• Help scale from concepts to full‑scale production in a fast‑paced environment.
