Vertex is seeking a SOX PMO Co-Op for a 6-month program in Boston, MA, focusing on accounting, internal controls, and SOX compliance. You will collaborate with control owners across Accounting, Finance and HR to assess risk and support process improvements.

This paid internship runs January through June 2027 in a hybrid/onsite format with mentoring, real projects, and opportunities to prepare for a career in financial reporting and internal controls.

Competenze

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in accounting or business.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize accordingly.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; Vertex does not sponsor internships/co-ops.
• Must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before June 2027.
• Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week January–June 2027.

Mansioni

• Support the team on process walkthroughs (Revenue, Inventory, Treasury, SEC Report, GL Accounting, IT Processes).
• Optimize SOX reporting tool; monitor status of deliverables to internal and external auditors.
• Prepare metrics for quarterly management status meetings.
• Document key control changes for presentations to senior management.
• Facilitate collection and review of quarterly control certifications.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams on projects as needed.
