Job summary

Vertex SOX PMO Co‑Op is a 6‑month, paid internship for students pursuing accounting or business degrees. You’ll work on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls, risk assessment, and internal controls while supporting cross‑functional teams in a fast-paced biotech environment.

You will collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and HR, assist with walkthroughs, metrics, and control certifications, and contribute to process improvements and global standardization initiatives. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in accounting or business.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize accordingly.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the SOX team on process walkthroughs (Revenue, Inventory, Treasury, SEC Report, GL Accounting, IT).
• Optimize SOX reporting tool; monitor deliverables to internal/external auditors.
• Prepare metrics for quarterly management status meetings.
• Document key control changes for presentations to senior management.
• Facilitate collection and review of quarterly control certifications.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Internal Audit, Finance, and HR.
