Job summary

Seaboard Foods is looking for a Sow Farm Assistant Supervisor to care for swine and help supervise employees at the sow farm under the manager's direction. You will help ensure SOPs, herd health, and accurate record-keeping.

The role involves training staff, supervising shifts, timely reporting, and adherence to safety and biosecurity measures, including vaccination protocols and alarm systems maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in English language, reading and writing.
• Preferred: Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed and facilities are in good condition.
• Maintain high herd health and proper feeding and care of animals; keep records of animals, employees, and supplies.
• Train employees on day-to-day processes to develop a competent workforce.
• Supervise and schedule groups of employees and act as manager when the supervisor is absent.
• Ensure weekly and daily reports are submitted timely and accurately.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and follow medication and vaccination protocols.
• Maintain the alarm system and emergency systems and respond to alarms properly.
