Job summary

Seaboard Foods is seeking a Sow Farm Assistant Supervisor to care for swine and assist in supervising farm employees under the direction of the farm manager.

The role emphasizes maintaining herd health, enforcing SOPs, and accurate record-keeping while promoting safety and operational efficiency on-site at our sow farm.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in English language, reading and writing.
• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or related experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed and facilities are in good working condition.
• Maintain high herd health and adhere to biosecurity protocols; keep accurate records of animals, employees, and supplies.
• Train employees on day-to-day processes to develop a competent workforce using hands-on methods.
• Supervise and schedule groups of employees and act as manager when the supervisor is not present.
• Assist and ensure weekly and daily reports are submitted timely and accurately.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
• Follow medication and vaccination protocols for the farm.
• Maintain the alarm system and respond properly to emergency signals.

We have an exciting Sow Farm Assistant Supervisor opportunity. In this role, you will attend to and care for swine and assist in supervising employees at the sow farm under the direction of the manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition.
• Maintain high herd health and adhere to all biosecurity set forth by the company and proper feeding and care of animals while also maintaining accurate records and reports of animals, employees, and supplies on the farm.
• Training of employees on day-to-day processes and procedures to develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands‑on training methods.
• Supervising and scheduling groups of employees and acting as manager when the supervisor is not present
• Assist and ensure that all weekly and daily reports are turned in timely and accurately.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
• Follow the assigned medication and vaccination protocols for the farm.
• Maintain the alarm system and all emergency systems and answer alarm calls properly

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Must be proficient in English language, reading and writing

Preferred:

• Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
