Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Kansas is seeking a Sow Farm Assistant Supervisor to care for swine and help supervise farm employees under the manager's direction. You will ensure animal care, record-keeping, and adherence to SOPs on the sow farm.

The role requires English proficiency and a willingness to learn through hands-on training. This is a full-time, on-site position offering benefits and growth opportunities within a leading U.S. pork producer.

Responsibilities

• Ensure SOPs are followed and facilities are in good condition.
• Maintain herd health, biosecurity, feeding, and animal records.
• Train employees using hands-on methods.
• Supervise and schedule staff, act as manager when needed.
• Ensure timely submission of weekly and daily reports.
• Follow safety procedures and vaccine protocols.
• Maintain alarm and emergency systems and respond to alarms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition.
• Maintain high herd health and adhere to all biosecurity set forth by the company and proper feeding and care of animals while also maintaining accurate records and reports of animals, employees, and supplies on the farm.
• Training of employees on day-to-day processes and procedures to develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands‑on training methods.
• Supervising and scheduling groups of employees and acting as manager when the supervisor is not present
• Assist and ensure that all weekly and daily reports are turned in timely and accurately.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
• Follow the assigned medication and vaccination protocols for the farm.
• Maintain the alarm system and all emergency systems and answer alarm calls properly

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Must be proficient in English language, reading and writing

Preferred:

• Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
