Job summary

Heidelberg Materials seeks an Associate General Counsel to support its Southwest Region in Irving, TX. You will partner with regional leadership to provide practical legal guidance across commercial, regulatory, employment, and litigation matters.

The role requires a JD with bar admission and 7+ years in corporate or in-house counsel, with experience in building materials or manufacturing preferred. Travel to regional sites is expected.

Qualifications

• JD and bar admission in good standing.
• 7+ years of corporate/in-house or regional counsel experience.
• Experience in building materials, heavy industrial, or manufacturing sectors preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks while supporting business objectives.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional office environment with regular leadership interaction.
• Regular engagement with cement, aggregates, and ready-mix operations.
• Travel to regional operations and meetings may be required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted legal advisor to Southwest Region leadership.
• Advise on commercial transactions, employment law, regulatory compliance, litigation and other matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate supply, distribution, real estate, and service contracts.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks with practical solutions.
• Manage litigation, disputes, and claims with internal and outside counsel.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local requirements including environmental and safety regulations.
• Deliver compliance training and implement corporate policies regionally.
• Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic initiatives.
• Participate in regional business planning with leadership for operational excellence.
